I’m trying to reconcile how and why Allah Subhao, had chosen the people of Israel in the Quran.

The choice of Bani Isra’il (بَنِي إِسْرَائِيل) in the Quran is less about ethnic privilege and more about a covenant of responsibility — Allah says “We chose them above the worlds” (44:32), but the same scripture documents their failures as a warning, not a celebration. The ikhtiyar (اختيار) — the choosing — came with the heaviest of obligations, which is why the Quran uses their story as a mirror for all communities who receive divine guidance. What’s striking is that the Quran frames this selection as a test (ibtila’), not a guarantee of salvation.
